Hi I'm looking to buy my first car and I'm comparing the 2001-2005 1.7EL models with the 2006-2011 CSX models.

Since they upgraded the engine on the 2006 CSX and made it have a 2L capacity vs the previous 1.7L, my question is:

Does the newer CSX use noticeably more fuel than the 1.7?

I'm leaning more toward the CSX, can anyone convince me? Living in Vancouver the crazy gas prices that are only climbing are a concern for me.
