Acura 1.7EL MP3 Stereo hook up?

Acura 1.7EL MP3 Stereo hook up?
Greetings,
I recently purchased a 2001 Acura 1.7 EL-P, with the factory regural CD player in dash. I need MP3 it is all I use....
I have 2 options.
1) Purchase a aftermarket JVC or Panasonic MP3 Stereo ( these are the ones I've been looking at)
2) I already have a Iriver portable player, and could use that.
My question is, could someone please give me advice, with regards to parts I need to make option 1 possible, or option 2 possible.
Im pretty sure I can figure out how to install the sucker( my dad will do it), once I know what parts Im dealing with, ie: converters, wires, etc.
Also please give me your thoughts on what option do you think is more ideal?
The 1.7 EL-P has a 6 channel premium sound system, not sure where the AMP is located or if there is more than one.
