Ahhh.. I knew you stated $1799 above for the Sammy.. Didn't know about the rebate etc..

Maybe worth a shot, Sears price match policy off the start if you can find it cheaper somewhere else is basically a additional 10% off.

If you find a lower price on an identical branded item with the same features (in Home Electronics identical brand and model number) currently available for sale at another local competitor retail store, Sears will match that price plus, give you 10% of the difference. Just bring in the original advertisement to a sales associate at the time of, or within 30 days after, your purchase.
edit: fuckin BB is overpriced POS.. I'm going to miss price match CC prices..

editagain: And FYI, I doubt they'll do it.. And of course CC site is down but I know everyday price at CC for the 650 was cheaper then Sears price.

Sears won't match amazon... Still be pegged with tax, too.

I know they won't price match Amazon. And, unfortunately, CC is going out of business. But was thinking maybe you have other retail stores around that might be cheaper. Thought it might be worth a shot.

Not much else around, unfortunately. BB, CC, Sears. Unless I'm drawing a blank.

I have no clue if it would be worth the drive for you Scrib, but I think the Little Guys Home Electronics in Glenwood is supposed to be a decent non-big box store.

That's only about 15 miles from me. I'll give them a call tomorrow. My Dad bought it Pioneer plasma from them. Good call!

Wish I would have thought of them today... Could have driven over there.

Samsung FTW! I have the LN46A750 and I love it. The 52 650 is under $2K, they keep dropping...I'd def go with sammy.

That's the 550.. Not 650.. Although, not a bad price. But I believe the 550 has a different panel then the 650.

hhgregg? I don't know if you have them where you are, but it's another option if you do.

The 850? It's nice, but I think it's the same panel as the 650/750. Definitely could be wrong, but when I glanced at the specs after it came out, they looked to be the same.

I strongly disagree. We bought an XBR 52 and loved it so much we got a XBR 40 for the master.

And Scrib, I wouldn't scrimp on your main You get what you pay for.

The 850 is pure sex because it's so damn thin. That's about it. Hung on a wall, you'll never see it.

It's NOT a 120Hz TV, which I'm not so sure is worth it.
My friend has the exact set infact I was just over there last Sunday to watch the NFL playoff games. I must say for it not being a 120 hz I didn't notice any motion blur during the game. The picture was very bright and blacks were good as well. I say go for it you won't regret it.

^ If the TV was cheaper than the Sammy 650/750 I could understand that logic. But the general consensus here and most places is that the Sammy is the better TV, and for the same or less $$.
