Soundbar for LCD TV . . .

Anyone used a soundbar with their TV? Looking at a Sony 40" XBR7 or XBR9. Speakers on the XBR9 were downgraded from the XBR7; 2 X 10W vs 2 X 10W + 2 X 12W. Shape of room and placement of TV makes surround system a waste of $. Looking specifically at one of these;

Get the one in the first link. I'd would say do all the research and check reviews, but i've already done that and I can tell you with complete confidence that the Sony is the way to go.

Don't let soundbars sway you. It's a real deal digital 3-1 system, it's just missing the surround speakers, which give you minimal sound anyway. The sony produces a decent surround affect and outstanding sound quality.

+1 for the 1st. If you get Blu Rays, it will decode the HD audio formats. Check Wal Mart.

Just picked one up for our bedroom. It's nice. Wife doesn't see the point.

Had a bit more time to play with it. For the couple hundred dollar investment, it's fine. I can't imagine the more expensive ones give you that much more.

Wasn't looking to do a big surround setup for the bedroom, so this fits the bill.
