it was something like pcbargains.com or something like that if you google " Samsung LN-T4661F" it's on the first page... but onecall.com matched it no problems... you might wanna look even more, there might be even cheaper prices...

Why did you go with the 65 over the 61?

Reviews, specs, but really, the price difference is about $100, and the contrast ratio is 10,000:1 (61) vs. 15,000:1 (65). More importantly, I went to 2 different stores and did a side by side viewing for about 30 mins or so each. Looked at paused pictures and live motion, the picture on the 65 was worth the extra $100 or so.

I kinda wish the 61 had that little blue light under the "Samsung" sign

I just viewed the 61 and 65 side by side. The 65 definitely has a clearer picture. I found no difference in the sound. However, the glossy finish on the 65 was driving me nuts in the store. I could not imagine not noticing glare and reflections in any kind of a lighted room. When the set was off it was a big mirror.

Both sets were much better than the XBR's for depth of blacks. Both had amazing black details/contrast.

ordered mine ("61") last tuesday got it delivered thursday!!! but had some problems with the connection... no, NOT the TV, but the f-ing cable box... didn't have time to deal with it over the weekend cuz I went home to see my folks for Mother's Day weekend... but am going today or tomorrow... But it looks great! though I have to admit... it isn't really a whole lot better picture then my 720p DLP from 3 years ago... maybe I should've gone with the "65"

I'll probably pick up a PS3... we'll see how that goes.

Interesting....The 65 was a better picture than the 61 in the store and I have a 3 year old DLP.

cTLgo, please tell us what you think, including any reflection issues with the glossy screen.

but keep in mind, I'm sitting a lot closer to the 61 then I am with the DLP in the living room... sometimes, I even sit at the edge of the bed, which is like 2 feet away. In the living room, I'm about 8-10 feet away...

My old TV just crapped out. I'm having some issues on placement of the new LCD, so my only hesitation for not ordering yet.

okay, so I take it back... (about the picture not being a whole lot better than my 3 yr. old DLP). Channels like Discovery HD, and ESPN... the pictures AWESOME!!! Better than the DLP. But with some movies on HBO, like "the Breakup" last night, it was just okay.... I guess it depends on the channel.

HBO HD? I've found that programs filmed in HD have better resolution than those "converted" to HD, like movies.

Lets just say my jaw dropped when I saw the picture. The black and whites are so dead on. The colors are extremely vibrant. I didn't even have a high quality DVD playing and the picture was phenomenal! I did have any reflection issues, even with the lights on. This TV was well worth the purchase price. I can't wait till my TV stand and mount comes.

okay, so... I have to revise my review of the 61. This is what really happened, but it's gonna be long. When I got the TV delivered... earlier than I expected. I couldn't wait for Cox Cable to send me a HD DVR, so I drove to their local center (about 20 minutes away) to pick one up... well, they ran out of HD DVR's so I convinced myself to take a plain HD box. I figured, I can just do all the recording with the DVR in the living room. But the problem was, Cox Cable's (plain) HD box doesn't HDMI output, but DVI, so they convinced me to buy a DVI<->HDMI cable, however it was a cheap one, I figure it should do the job... since everyone's always saying how the high end cables are overrated... well, I found out the hard way that... either the cheap cables do make a difference, and/or there's a lost of quality with the DVI<->HDMI cable (vs. HDMI<->HDMI cable)... which is what the tech support people told me at Onecall.com... Which is why I said the picture's wasn't a whole lot better than my DLP.

So, I swapped the HD DVR from the living room, and used a good HDMI cable... and WOW!!! What a difference!!! It's pretty much everything cTLgo said about his 65' but w/o the glossy screen. I also picked up a PS3, but I haven't hooked it up yet... I'll try and post pics later.

FYI, here's a set of calibration settings from avsforum for the 61/65 that the user says gives a sweet picture with a perfectly black screen:

Mode=Movie
Contrast=85
Brightness=42
Sharpness=25
Color=60
Tint=G50-R50
Backlight=3
Tone=Warm1
Black Adjust=low
Dynamic Contrast=off
Gamma=-1
Color Space=wide
White Balance=all 15
Color Control=all 15
Edge Enhancement=off
YvYcc=off

is it just me or does it seem like these TV's give off a lot of heat? I mean.... to the point where the temp. in the room rises?

The Guy at Circuit City mentioned that too. I thought it was about as hot as the back of my DLP. And these are supposed to use about 4x less power than a plasma.
