Question on buying a used TV set..

so, my g/f needs a TV set and was looking at Craigslist. Women says TV was bought last Christmas and for a 27", she is willing to take $75. Smoking deal and I am not going to splurge on a new TV set for g/f since I am already getting the 'milk'. LOL!

So, she says TV was used with an Xbox. I must admit I have no clue about that but with average use on a Xbox, is the TV still OK?

(for being the dumb ass in electronic that I am).

Yeah it's fine... And a cheap CRT TV can cost not much more than that new. What brand?

why not?

is it in your area? i'd check it out. for $75, it's worth the risk, i think.

i also agree that crt's can get pretty cheap. my gf's looking for a cheap 24" and we saw several at walmart for less than $150.

this 1. It is a Sylvania. If it is older than a couple of years, it should be easy to tell by the overall condition of the exterior. What I am going to do it call her tomorrow morning to tell her I am on the way and also tell her to turn the TV on so it is hot when I get there. I doubt she is going to go out of her way to scam $75 esp since I will know where she lives.

On the back of the TV, you should see a date of manufacture. It should prove how old it is. A tube TV (CRT) shouldn't have any screen damage from a video game.
