$800????? Sorry, cable box doesn't cost anything. I'd consider it for $200-$300.

the TiVo UI is great and all, but SA's latest efforts are nearly comparable. With the price gap, it's SA FTW - hands down.

I'll stick with my free HD DVR box... I am running low on memory, and I read a popsci article about plugging in an external HD into the box you get from the cable company simply with the USB port. Anyone have a link?

I must have this, but not for $800. I'm waiting to see what happens when Comcast starts putting the Tivo Software on their Motorola box. I hate the software my HD DVR runs now.

I think the original Tivo came out for about the same money and then was half the price a year later.

free? You sure you aren't paying about $15-$20 a month for it?

It sucks that TivoToGo is indefinetly disabled for this box Went out and bought one and I truly believe that the quality of the recorded HD content on this Series 3 box beats the pants off of my old SA 8300

If (or ever) they enabled the Tivo2Go functionality on the Series 3 than that will be icing on the cake.

^ Do you still currently like your S3? Anyone else pick one up? I'm thinking about it. FIOS TV is coming and I haven't heard good things about their DVR.
