Good cheap HDTV just for gaming?
Anyone have any recomendations on a cheap HDTV set that is between 500-700 dollars. That is good for 360? Right now im using a LCD montior back from 2002 its nice and all but way to small viewing angle. So any recomednations or should I wait till 1080p sets become really cheap? I would perfer a LCD tv.

I think I would get a good quaility tube TV for just games. Yeah its big and bulky but you don't have burn in or issues with the refresh being too slow for fast motion stuff.

I picked up the Westinghouse LTV-32W6 for our bedroom. It was discussed in this thread. I've been reading up on this LCD on AVSForum and it seems that a lot of gamers are using it for that purpose. You might wanna take a look.

Nah ill keep the montior for video gaming for now until I find a good LCD tv set. Video games look much better on LCD then regular CRT.

I have a 27 inch olevia, It works okay well for games. It was 500 bucks a couple months or so ago. Photo editing on my pc is a no, no. I have to say 27 inches still isn't quite enough to read text in dead rising from 8 feet back.
The only problems I've had, besides color balance for photo editing, is that if I turn the back light down the speakers buzz, only way to get it to stop is by turning the volume all the way down. I use a separate amplifier anyway so it doesn't bother me.
What does bother me is I can't get Linux to communicate with it properly via the dvi output. Even if I force it to use 1366x768 it will just run that format, but in the resolution of 1024x768 in a letterbox, but still stretched out so everything looks fat. VGA is fine, but text becomes hard to read.
It has dvi, vga, and two component inputs for hd. DVI being the best for me thus far.
Anywho not bad for bargain basement, though i can put up with allot of crap in the interests of being cheap.
I thought I saw one of those black Friday adds with a 32 inch Westinghouse in your price range.

^ No, it's 720p/1080i right now, although MS is releasing a patch to include 1080p support, it will only support 1080p via VGA or component, and since most TV's do not support 1080p via component, you'll need to hook it up via VGA to take advantage of that new feature when it becomes available...

I only recently started going to Black Friday to buy stuff - are TVs usually a lot cheaper on that day? If so, anyone got an estimate of how much they'll knock off? And do they get scooped up instantly or do they sit there until the end of the day?
I'm on a budget because my funds are slowly dwindling. I REALLY want a new TV, because this 20" CRT I got is great and all for its price, but it's not cutting it. I just feel like I'm missing out by having a 360 and not having a HDTV. Is that Westinghouse a 1080p TV?
And what do I need to buy or do to have HD with my 360? I have no idea what 720/1080 means besides that 720 is crappier. Cables, procedures, etc?
