Need speaker wire replaced, run

How much should it cost (per hour) to have someone replace already run speaker wire, and extend the run for the rears to the floor (they end just below the ceiling line)?

Anyone know of a good vendor in Phoenix? Lots of these guys seem like "a guy and a truck", but maybe that's all that's needed... I dunno.

You can't attach the new wire to the old and pull it through?

Assuming there's nothing in the walls, it's a pretty easy job to do yourself.

I Would, but:

A. I have blow in insulation in the attic and I am sure it would get hung up (120 degrees up there)

B. I need the cable dropped from where it comes out right now to the floor level, an RCA plug and wall plate installed (x2) and a little dry wall repair where the previous owner had the lines going INTO the wall behind his high (and my low) entertainment center.

I could do it, but I am no Bob Villa and I would fuck it up. It would look like Whisker's son was in charge of the project...

Why don't you try it? Attach the new speaker wire to the end of the old speaker wire and try to pull it through. If you can't do it, then try to hire someone. What about Tweeter or some company like that?

Seems like a lot of work, plus I need the end of the cable to drop to the floor, not stop just below the ceiling.

I could probably change my oil, too, of I really wanted to, but since there are people who really know what they are doing, and they have families that need to be supported, I will probably pay someone who knows what they are doing to do it.

It's my little economic stimulus package, except mine is based on capitalism.

I prefer to keep my stimulus package in my pants.

But anyway, you're right. If you'd prefer to have someone do it, then they would love to help you out!

Did you check the developer of your home (assuming it's not built by a defunct builder) to see if there is someone/some company it recommends for aftermarket wiring?
Otherwise, any neighbors with similar construction that have had similar wiring work done (assuming they did not pick a couple of guys up at the Home Depot parking lot)?

G/L.

Good thought, Will. I have no idea what they put in the walls in so far as cross braces between the studs, but they would!

Wish i knew of someone reputible in PHX for home theater. Look up in the yellow pages and research with the BBB for a start. There have got to be plenty of places based outa Scottsdale to do HT.

If you are worried about cross beams between the vertical studs, grab a stud finder and track left and right down the wall between two vertical studs you find.
