i hope this is in the right section
so ive never had a computer before, and im in the market for a decent laptop for school and internet.
ive narrowed it down between an HP or a Dell Studio 15 with the illuminated keyboard. what are the pros and cons with these laptops. ive heard that Dell had great customer service and HP takes forever to fix your computer. also, has anyone financed through dell? im thinking of going that route, but havent looked at the interest rates yet.
what are your opinions?
thanks

Perhaps the computer/Game section would be a better section for this?
Yes. I conformed that the computer/game sections would, in fact, be a better place for this.

IMO no one can just arbitrarily state (or believe) Dell is good with X and HP is bad with Y. All of the major computer manufacturers make machines that range from complete junk to really good. The same goes with their customer service. Your results are going to depend on how high up/down you buy in the product line, what sort of issue you call them about, what time of day it is, the phase of the Moon, alignment of the planets, etc....
In summary, don't put much weight in brand comparisons unless you're seeing things about the exact model of machine you're debating or something you feel is acceptably close.
