monoprice prices...
I was looking on monoprice for some wall mount brackets for my plasma....the prices are damn low...are these crappy brackets? The last thing I want is my plasma come crashing down on me because I went el cheapo on the wall mount.
no, i have a 40 inch sony bravia hanging from their robotic arm mount.
it was like 60 bucks. and weighs like 60lbs.(not sure, just exaggerating) but it sure is well made and heavy
i bolted down on two studs.
i can swing my 40 inch tv to the right or left. i can bring it out forward, tilt up and down.
i needed another person to help install as the mount was too heavy for me to bolt down on my own.

I had a negative experience with their HDMI cables, so I swore off of them.
Last week I needed to buy some CAT6 patch cables. Their price was 1/4 of the price of Cables to Go patch cables from Amazon, so I couldn't resist.
Got them last week, installed them between my structured wiring cabinet and the switches. If I close the cover on my structured wiring cabinet completely, they bend and lose contact. I have a couple of the Cables to Go patch cables in there too that have no such issues.
I think the problem is that they are not flexible enough at the connector -- if you are a monoprice fan you would probably claim that they are made too well. Interestingly, this was the exact same problem I had with the HDMI cables -- they were very thick and couldn't make the bends that a "lesser" cable can, especially at the connector.
You get what you pay for, even with these guys.
As for the TV mount, I got mine from them too. Cheap, strong. How strong depends more on how you mount it to the wall than on the mount itself.

I ordered new cables a month ago and they are still in the box. I'll have to try out the new ones soon.
I agree that the HDMI cables are pretty stiff. I ordered two of their newer HDMI cables without the hard sleeve, and even those are stiff. But, they do sell angle connectors that would make the problem less so. Yes, they are an added purchase, but they may come in handy in the future for some other need.
I've always been pleased with everything I've gotten from Monoprice, including my TV mount. I got #4114 for up to 63" TVs/165lbs (didn't need any tilting or swiveling). Works great. I was able to get the mount on the wall myself, but needed help lifting the TV onto it due to its size...so 98% DIY.
where you got aluminum arms from??I just took alook at monoprice and they do sell wall mounts with aluminum arms.
What ever you choose, it will holdup. the mount that I got is holding up for me.

How big is the tv? I bought this one from MP and it's steel and it weighs a freakin ton.

Almost everything I've needed, I bought from monoprice. Includes: Cat5e, Coax, Wall plates (w/ interchangeable connectors), and 4 wall mounts. I usually get the meritline HDMI cables when they go on sale for 3/$9.99.
