Home theater system
Well we recently bought a home theater system with polk audio speakers and sub with a yamaha 7.2 reciever. Now i set it all up and everything and its great, but my mom doesnt like it She thinks its to bulky for our room which is not that big. So basically im lookin for smaller speakers and a sub that will fit perfectly behind out tv like a rectangle sub.
Now i found a bose system that looks good on paper and im sure my mom would approve, but the question is it good. Its those small cube speakers by bose.

Funny you two provided those links.
The Sony sound bar system is loud! It the sound bar projects sound in all parts of the master bedroom making my ears believe there really is 5.1 surround sound.
The Bose 10 series is great for large living rooms. It needs to be set up properly or it won't sound good at all.

Like I previously said, Bose is overpriced for what you get.
For an ~ $1K-$1.5K budget, here are some suggestions:
- Enthusiast 1 series from Hsu Research
- SBS-01 from SVS (personally, I would upgrade the two fronts to SCS-01)
- CM1 from Bowers & Wilkins
- CMT-340 SE for F/L, CMT-340 for C, CBM-170 SE for surrounds from Ascend Acoustics (not sure if they're still offering the special priced setup for their moving sale... tough price to beat for the package --> http://forum.ascendacoustics.com/showthread.php?t=4000 )
- Epic Midi 125 from Axiom Audio
How big is the room by the way?

You say Bose is trash. Explain why, because my system works just fine.
I have a Bose Accoustimass 10 series wired up to a Denon AV-3806. The diamond cubes sound like giant concert speakers.

lack of clearity and lack of crossover unification.
run a thx crossover sweep (found on starwars dvds)
and listen for freqency dips and a loss of smooth sweep transitions.
