FM reception
FM reception
What do you guys do to receive FM on your receivers in your family room (or wherever) in your house? In my old house I connected my receiver to the unused cable jack behind the ent. center - that cable ran to the attic and there I connected it to a homemade (di-pole) sp? and had great reception. What do you guys do? Just wondering as I am picking stuff for the new house if I should add another cable run to the attic from the place where ent. center will be like I had before since it worked so well. Any better ideas? NO, I am not subscribing to another XM subscription etc. Just regular free FM for the amount of use it gets.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Since you're building a new house I would do a separate antenna run from the place where the entertainment center will be to the attic and/or roof. This is the best way to get reception, and with a new house it's easy to have the builder do.
We did not do this, however, we must be lucky b/c i just hooked up the little wire antenna tthat came with it to the back of the receiver, stretched it out behind the TV, and put a little piece of tape to hold it up against the back of the entertainment center. With that setup we get all of the stations very clearly. We even use the radio through the integrated speakers throughout the house and by the pool... sounds clear as a bell...

Just add the extra jack/cable now while it's being built. The cost can't be too great. I have a Twerk indoor antenna and I'm not too pleased with it. However, without it, I wouldn't be able to get anything.
