Entry level Receivers Yamaha or Onkyo?

http://www.compusa.com/applications/...c:3418|&Sort=4

I really am not looking to spend more than $250.00 I am looking at either the Yamaha 365 or Onkyo 307.

I will not be running HDMI through the reciever. I will have the optical cable going to it for audio.

how many watts per channel at what Ohm rating do you need? 5.1 or 7.1? Do you plan on sending 1080P though component cables?

5.1 and no I will not be sending 1080p through component. I have a BD player and a cablebox only, and I have them going hdmi to tv and plan to keep it that way. I have some definitive tech speakers, and just want to give them some decent power. It will only be a 3.1 system for now...

This is a great article... I found myself learning towards the Pioneer at the end of it.

The audio quality between brands is almost negligible. So it basically comes down to inputs and features you need/want.

Pioneer make a nice receiver, but the software sucks something fierce to setup. That' why I went Yamaha, still great sound and features, with easy to use software to configure it.
