Costco Extented Warranty

I like CC. So, I buy most of my stuffs from CC. I also buy the warranty from CC if the stuff is $500 or more. The warranty service from CC is very good. How's the warranty from Costco? They say they will double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years for TV. That along is maybe $200-$300 saving.

That's further than I got. Once I read the user name, I pretty much gloss over the rest of the thread.

I think most credit cards will add (1) year to the warranty when the item is purchased with the card. I know my CitiBank Card does. Can't use the card at Costco though.

The warranty service from CitiBank is not that good. They subcontracted some mom and pa shops to fix the thing. Last time I called them to repair my Alpine, I needed to drop the radio to a specific shop. Drove an hour to get there. And then I had to go pick it up. There was very little paper work though. But the Alpine kept breaking again. So, I ended up ordering the parts and took apart the radio and fixed it myself.

Warranty from CC is the best IMO. Last time I dropped my Harman Kardon there (which was only 10 minutes away). They only asked for my phone#. They called me to pick it up a week later. That was it.

How's the warranty service from Costco? Do I have to jump through hoop and drive miles and miles to get the thing fixed?
