Came Home to This....

Brand-new 52" Toshiba Regza flat-panel TV. Picture is freakin' sweet and everything works! Our old Toshiba CRT TV (circa 1993) finally lost its video input and the remote fried a long time ago. Pretty much all functions were jerry-rigged through the VCR. It was really ghetto. Love the new TV, can't wait for the high-def cable!

I thought I was going to see a canine damaged sofa or such. Then I saw TV, thought it was going to be sitting on a broken glass stand. Glad to see it was neither. suite, guess the BoSox games are going to look pretty good this weekend.

Nice new toy. Gonna wall-mount that though? Looks kinda awkward sitting on a small nightstand.

We're going to get it a new stand; I agree, the '90s wood panel stand just isn't cutting it but the thing is huge!

ugh! once you get bitten by the video/audiophile bug... it'll be an endless (and expensive) addiction. Next thing you know, you'll be post threads on surround sound equipment

Yeah, that's what so awkward about the flat panels.

Unless you have the room and decor to make it look cool, you might as well go projection if you're gonna have a milk crate footprint anyway.

Nice tube there. I bought a good old box CRT projector HDTV back in 2003 IIRC. It's been a great TV, but I'm ready for a flat screen or a front projector.

I know I should have updated this two years ago but here is the finished product.

Still rocking the VHS every now and again but now we have BluRay and a Comcast cable box with the HD channels...still have to pick up HDMI cables for the box although the BluRay player has one.

Andrew:
It's so funny that you mentioned that you should have posted an update 2 years ago, because I said the same thing to myself when I saw this post and realized it was posted in 10/2007, took me awhile to figure out why your living room looked like it went in reverse....and I don't usually see you in the Home Theatre threads...looks way better than it did
Gonna hook up the N64 for some Mario Kart 64 fun
