Apple TV??

Anyone going to get it? My buddy somehow got his hands on one about 2-3 weeks ago and this thing is killer. I'm very interested in one when it's officially released, but was curious to what other products are out there that are similiar?

I just read an article on it. Don't let the title of the article fool you, it is pretty balanced:

Interesting article. Makes me think I really just need to use my PS3 more. I've loaded a ton of songs to it, but need to do movies, etc.

sweet thing about the appleTV is it's now possible to hack it and install a full version of OSX so that it will run like a computer! 299 for and appple computer is pretty badass.

It's been out for a couple weeks...

I have one and I really like it. And the s of the world are figuring out ways to hack it.

There are some limitations, but it serves a good purpose for me.

Oh and... IMHO, it's the perfect device for a carputer.

Slanted because the reviewer liked it? Yes, it's different that the article on Yahoo but everyone has a different opinion on things.

You'll have no issues streaming from different libraries. Same goes for multiple computers.

The issue you may have is on the syncing side. Just like an iPod, you can only sync to one account, one computer. Same with the Apple TV. if I try and sync from a different computer, it'll tell me I can only do it from one source and it'll wipe what's on their currently if I proceed.

So what I did was set up a network disk that has all my music, photos, etc and sync from there. That way, multiple computers can share the libaries and the Apple TV is happy.

yea, I really think I just need to delve more into my PS3. It's there and I have it, you know? We'll see where I can with it. I've loaded up a ton of music, i'm just bummed I can't figure out how to do a random play.

Also, does anyone know how to label an mp3/aac file so that it puts it in genre, etc? A few of my albums i've transfered to the PS3 just get thrown into an "Other" file.

Yes. Any review that endorses and Apple product is always slanted.

It wasn't a blantant fan-boy type slant. Just sounds like it was from someone quite familiar and happy with Macs and Apple products in general.

Anyway, I'm not knocking it. I am curious about your impressions on image quality, though.

I read one review that said that the HD video quality wasn't up to par. The review said it was grainy. True?
