I'm just trying to figure out how many ducts you have going through that wall.

I would highly doubt it's a return. You'd never put a return on the floor. It totally defeats the purpose. It would suck cold air back into the furnace and leave the hot air up high in the room.

If you know someone in the HVAC business I would have them check that out. Something just doesn't seem right.

The house isn't that big. Why would you need that many supply vents that close together.

Is that a laundry room or the HVAC room? That might explain it.

There are no other returns on that level....the kitchen, living room, dining room and foyer. There are returns in every other room. I think its the only way. I know about 5 other people with the same style of house and they are all the same.

I was going to get one the doesn't have a closed back....

Just enough to make you not notice them.
