Post your Lawn Stripes here:

I am an avid DIY landscaper. I take great pride in a nice lawn and shrubs. I used to have a 38" cut John Deere tractor that did a nice job cutting my lawn. A few years ago I traded in the JD for a 20HP V-twin Massey Ferguson with a 50" cut deck and triple bagger. MF is manufactured by Simplicity. The company made famous for their lawn rollers used to stripe ball parks and such. Here are some pics of my yard. I hope you enjoy them.

Please post your own yard pics. I love to see other landscapes. Gives me good ideas.

man that's a beautiful house. Very tasteful landscaping. I got a BS in Turf management and worked for several golf courses, commercial landscaping company's and 2 minor league baseball teams. Nothing made the job more satisfying than seeing a freshly striped lawn. Kudos to you on a beautiful lawn

I am a reluctant PTM landscaper. My lawn isn't big enough to warrant owning a tractor, so I have my 12-year old mow it with a Honda lawnmower that's just a bit younger than he is.

Thanks guys! No one has their pics to share??

BobbyLight - are you in that business still? That sounds interesting. I went to school for BS Mechanical Engineering. Ended up in IT. Hate the hi-tech treadmill. I yearn to own a landscaping business, etc. The problem is I can't afford to make the jump with mortgages, car payments and such. How did your career rollout?

How high do you cut it? Nice stripes. Recently went from pushing to riding - got a JD X300, 42" mulch deck - still trying to get the best height/best cut. Looks good man.

I got out about 3 yrs ago. Every Joe Blow and his uncle have a landscaping business in this area so trying to stay competitive and still pay the bills is hard. I could have stayed at the golf course, but the potential to move up and make good money was slim. I now drive a tractor trailer

Unlike the JD, the MF does not have height settings in inches - although I would guess I cut mine at 3" or so. Basically - I leave it at the top height all summer which is #6 and right now I am cutting at #5. My old JD had a knob to set cut height by inches. Having owned both, I feel the JD is an excellent machine that probably cuts the average lawn better than anybody. I went with the MF for the built in roller and the enhanced stripes. As it turns out, the cut is not as great. To the average observer it looks great - but I can tell the difference. If I had the chance to do it over, I may have bought the high end 48" JD. Oh well - too much money invested now. I would love to own commercial unit like ExMark, etc. The increased blade speed makes a huge difference over residential.

You are a smart man - stay outside as long as your body will let you! I love to drive but I don't think I could handle OTR and it takes too long to get good corporate position. I heard some corporate drivers do quite well. Hope you are enjoying it!

Beautiful house and lawn.

I'd like to think my dad's lawn is nicely cut too (although about 1/4 the size of your lawn), but his landscaping/gardending is his specialty. The backyard doesn't really have any grass anyways because it is pretty much a jungle for half the year. I don't currently have any lawn pics but I do have a bunch of pics of the backyard .
