Porch Deck Complete

I've been helping my 73 yr old father on this last project the last month and half..

All the houses are basically pre-fabricated so every little detail helps especially on the exterior.

Pics below..

Before:

After/Progress:

This is after the braces were added and a little framework plus the window was ripped out and a door added:

Finished Product:

Sweet... Looks like a nice place to crash in the summer time and watch the neighborhood hoodlums drive by (like the owner of that silver CLS parked out front)

Thanks guys.. And yes that's the CLS out front.. And yes greenie that's what a CL looks like with a drop to it..

My sister is getting married this Friday and she wanted to take some pics on the porch so we had a little pressure (bridezilla).. Luckily the weather has been nice the past few weekends.

DAMN!!! Looking at the before and going right to the final after - what an incredible different look - really, really adds to the beauty of the house - and not all additions/changes do that. Nice job - very nice job. For 73 your old man is kicking back in style!!

He's defintley a craftsman when it comes to woodwork.. But he was a Civil Engineer before he retired.. I'll post some more of the house and some of his work..

Luckily he's older and needs knee replacements so I got to do alot of the work and learn from him..

I thought it was going to be a hell of a project but after ripping out the old roof there were plenty of braces to support what we were doing. We just added onto the existing braces and added a slight slope.. We did some research on those existing decorative columns and they actually support a ridiculous amount like 2,000 lbs each..

And replacing the window with the door wasn't as bad as I thought it would be..

Awesome job.

What did you use for the decking? Looks like a trex-like material.

Nice work!

Thats kick-ass. So is that a walkout from a bedroom, or from an upstairs foyer/sitting area?

Nice job Jonesi! What do you mean by pre-fab? Do you mean modular?

AFAIK, Ryan Homes is not a modular builder. I think he meant cookie-cutter, not pre-fab...
