You can imagine our surprise when they showed up Saturday late afternoon... especially on a holiday weekend... to finish the slab grading! Crews, equipment, and gravel all showed up around 3pm. Either way, pending final inspection we're just about ready to get the slab poured...

Thanks all! We're pretty excited... should start moving a little quicker now.
Slab got postponed to this morning, but they should be done by now. They were at the house around 6:30am working! They actually added additional rebar along the back wall above and beyond what the engineer called for before pouring. They had some extra onsite, so they just used it. Framing material is arriving either today or tomorrow... so weather permitting they should be starting the framing by Wednesday.
Won't be able to get a pic until tomorrow of the slab b/c it will be dark by the time I get home tonight, and it's dark when I leave in the morning... so I'll snap some tomorrow evening...

^ Definitely. Even more excited now that the slab is poured and framing materials are on-site. With the rain forecasted today they are going to wait to start framing until tomorrow. But once that gets going it should really start taking shape!
Here are 3 slab shots I grabbed yesterday. Tough to get a good shot with all of the material and dirt and stuff around the slab. First one is from the "front" yard, second is the mud room with garage in the background. Third is the slab from the back. Last shot is the framing material that was delivered. Should be enough to get them started

They are not playing around. At that rate it will be fully boxed in by weeks end and ready for the 2nd story.

wow that looks great, I'm jealous of the big garage doors also

hehe. Working on filling them
That was our architect's idea. He said the cost difference in doors isn't too bad and we'd still be able to stay away from custom doors... so he suggested the 9'x8'. He said even if we never have anything that big, it's great for resale. We agreed, so we went with it.
