Need help guys
How do you get rid of the mouse problem in the garage? (Thanks God it's a detached garage). Just moved in a couple of weeks ago, and there's quite a few number of them in the garage, I tried those sticky pad bought from Walmart, but so far haven't caught a single one.
Don't use poison, it'll kill the neighborhood animals but zero mouse. My dad used the good old mousetrap (biggest one he could find) with some mouse bait. Caught a HUGE rat about a foot long and probably a good 2-3 lbs. The damn thing's head got snapped but didn't die and was struggling to free itself when he saw it. He got a big stick and started beating the shit out of it for like a minute before it died. Very good battle.
Read up on pest control.
It turns out that cats are not as effecient as everyone thinks. Traps help, but mice usually figure them out.
The real key is to think hard and look for the food source the mice are using. Remove it. Do you store any animal food, birdseed or other foodstuffs in the garage? Move it or contain it in solid containers. Clean out your garage from all debris and and combine this with a few traps. Soon after you remove the food source the mice will leave to seek food elsewhere (your neighbors).
Lastly, if you live in a real old building or near a mouse breeding ground (field, woods...) there may be little you can do.

Thanks guys, I'll head to Home Depot this weekend to buy a mouse trap. Can't even park the damn car in the garage now because of them. Btw, what about those ultrasonic sound device that you plug into an outlet, does it work?

If they are rats, they are a little tougher. You actually have to bait the traps without setting them. Basically feed them a few times, then set the trap.
I had a mouse making a nest in my shed. No source of food in there, but I saw the turds and someone had chewed up my gardening gloves...
Victory traps (plastic not the old fashioned wooden kind) loaded with peanut butter did the trick. I had to move then around a little, but the mouse problem was solved in a couple of days.
