Question Landscape Lighting

Hello,

I got my new home in Ulster County NY. I need those solar powered lights for my walkway and driveway. Would anyone recommend one I probably need about 15 lights at least. Would you say a regular bulb or led be brighter? I want something modern looking I have a Lowes or Home depot near by. Any brand that I should stay away from? Which ones are good? Please help me out.

Thanks

George

I got the LED ones. They give off a whiter light. I don't like the yellowish look of the bulb lights.

Malibu Coronado LED solar walklights but in black.

I got them on sale at Osh Hardware. Four for $39. I should've bought more but I wasn't sure if I'd liked them. I went back a few days ago and saw them for $29 for two. I guess I'll have to wait for another sale.

They are plastic BTW. They aren't metal. The metal ones are expensive.

Yes, I have them in my backyard so I'm not worried about theft. I see a lot of my neighbors who have them in the frontyard. They just stake into the ground.

Go to Home Depot and get their 3 tier solar lights either in black or metal finish. They are pretty bright. I have them for about a year now and no problems. I have about 15 in front and 15 in back and they look great. They have that HID color since they are LEDs.

Anyone use or know about Westinghouse?

Here is a link..

http://www.wnsweb.com/solarlight.html

It said it uses 2 Led's Solar powered

I saw a Hampton Bay at home depot stainless steel but I found a bad review on the net. It also used Led's and was 2 tier.

Thanks

FYI, the only lights we found to be bright enough and that didn't look too cheap were from Frontgate. They are pricey... however generally use LEDs and are the brightest of anything I used from either Home Depot or Lowes.

FYI #2, we ended up returning the solar lights and getting real lights wired up. We don't have walkway lights, only up-lights like in FDL's pic. Check out the last few pics in the gallery at: http://www.juniorbean.net/Personal/H...tHouseMain.htm

I have solar lighting (metal housing) and I'm getting ready to install low voltage lights.

They're simple to install and if you're looking for something to give off light, low voltage is the way to go.

Solar lights are nice, but I want something with a little more kick.
