No, just the fence panels are cedar along with the 2x4's... The posts are treated since it will be stuck in the ground.

You're suppose to weather the wood for a year or something like that before sealing. Whomever asked that above. At least that's my understanding.
I thought you were but it weathers so quickly.

You can seal it as soon as possible with cedar... if you want to maintain the "fresh" new look.

Thanks BoricuaTL!

Think of this thread as inspiration for you. Speaking of which, I forgot to update the final outcome of this project, I'll get some up when I get home.

I took this on my camera phone so the pic isn't great. But it does give you an idea of the transformation.

That is a wonderful transformation. You need a better after picture though.

That rear covered patio with the clear top panels is nice.

if you won't mind me asking what does a siding job like that cost? I need to replace my siding maybe next year, i'm sure it won't be cheap.

I agree, I need a better after pic!

And of course I don't mind you asking. Here are my quotes:
Vendor 1. $13k, but did not include paint
Vendor 2. $16k, but did not include paint
Vendor 3. $20,500, but included soffit replacments and gutters to be painted to match, and also the Fiber Cement came pre-painted (baked on instead of just sprayed on)

I went with Vendor 3. Oh and that was an out the door price that included taxes for #3!

Looks great. A new driveway is on my 'later' list. Would prefer smooth concrete to the pea gravel-like surface we have now. Hell on a floor jack trying to lift a car.
Neighbor at our old house had a basketball court (half-court-ish) poured in their back yard. Yours could easily be repurposed, theirs not so much.
Theirs is painted (blue & orange, IIRC), a bit less discrete.

I am getting old and its getting old as well to mow a larger lawn, so out with the majority of the grass and in with LOW maintenance concrete.

I got rid of a lot of grass in our backyard, but replaced it with a high-er maintenance hole into which I can pour money [pool].
