huge dent in wall, any experts?

Well, a glass snapple bottle was thrown at my wall. Theres a huge indentation now about an inch wide and half an inch deep. Is there a way I can fix this with out it killing my wallet. The work doesnt have to be perfect, just enough to pass a glance from people who will be checking my apt when i move out.

i hear putty works well. the rest of the wall has this bumpy texture (not stucco) that I cannot figure out how to match back. any help would be great, thanks.

well ur gonna have to fix the holw first. they sell this patch at home depot thats the easiest way to fix a hole. sticky on one side, stick it to the wall and then plaster over. sand and then paint. not hard at all

yea they make patch kits that are pretty simple, we have a poster over a huge crack i put in our wall this year that will need to be fixed soon.

we used a patch kit on a 6"x3" hole in a wall caused by a bit too much rum last year

Go to HD and buy a patch kit. It's simple to do - takes about 15 minutes to fill-in, another couple hours to dry, and then 5 minutes to sand smooth.

They also have spray texture in cans. You can try to use that to match the texture of your wall.

so your "huge" dent is about the size of my fingernail?

Um putty should fix that monster, make sure you check if it is a load bearing inch or not

YOu don't even need a patch kit, you're moving out. Just get some spackle and fill int he hole, then get that spray to match the texture. That is barley a hole.

I did some ghetto repairs in my young teenage days. One time at 13, my friend somehow went flying into a wall in my paretns house with his knee. I'm sitting there looking at this 4" diameter hole. First I jammed newspaper and high density foam into the wall. Then put a heavy unsmoothed layer of spackle over it. Heated with a heat gun and applied 2 more layers. sanded it down. 9 years later, my father sees the spot everyday and has not ever said a thing.

Yall missed the easiest solution. Get 20 friends and 20 snapple bottles. Have everyone throw at them at the wall. The wall will then look like it has a neet design and your done!

Well that's a perfectly good engineering solution anyway

^Well if it's like any house party I've ever had or been to, it was most likely some drunk guy getting pissed or just being stupid.

I filled a hole as big as a mans torso before
My friend had a party at his sister's house a few years back and these two 250 pound guys started going at it and eventually crashed into her wall They both hit it sideways so each of them put a shoulder through. Luckily his friend was a drywaller so he fixed it, but damn it was funny

I once tried to be cute with my son and try to stand on my hands. Needless to say, I overshot the middle balance position and went the other way. Both of my foot heels created holes in my apartment wall. The HD patch kit did the trick.
