Heat / AC issues

Our new home (4yrs old) has a dual zone heat / ac system. So we have two air handlers for the house. On handles the main part of the house and the other does the bedrooms. The only problem is that both thermostats are located in the living room. This makes it really difficult to get both sides of the house comfortable. Should I try and move the thermostat that controls the bedrooms to tha hallway or master bedroom? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Your thermostat should be located in the area that it is supposed to handle. Having them both in the same room yet one of them doesn't serve that area makes dual zone worthless.

Have it moved. May cost some money but will actually work when it's done.

Don't have any experience with them but they make remote thermostats. You mount a receiver on the air handler and place the controller in the area you need it. Might save having to rewire the existing thermostat.

It's low voltage wiring so it shouldn't be hard to move the thermostat.

In all honesty I would call another HVAC contractor (one with a good reputation) to come out and move the thermostat, and while they are at it inspect the rest of the system. It has been my experience that if a contractor does one thing incorrectly they generally screw something else up too. You don't want to go down the road another year or so and have a more expensive problem to resolve due to another mistake made during installation.

Thank you for all of your replies. I am going to have the thermostat moved by very reputable HVAC company this week.
