Eh, more or less having a conversation. Anyone with eyes can see it's an AV plate.
Using an arm to make up for that nook would work but would ultimately look like a bandaid, imo. If you build it out you can do all kinds of cool things for the wires, etc.
I've had my 55" Panny Plasma all the way off the wall (16") and it did fine. It's just not something I would do often or leave that way. It's putting it's weight all in one place (the upper bolts).
What I do use the arm for is to be able to pull it off the wall a little and then be able to turn the TV side to side so I can view football games from the deck.

Yeah.. no way. Maybe if you put a 2x4 frame anchored to the back of the built-in so the arm wouldn't be extended out so far.
Anyways.. Flip is going to be super busy. His hands will be full and up to his eyes in shit. My advice is to do whatever makes it work for you now. Plan on doing it up when things settle down.

Literally...
I will probably get this project done in the next month or 2 I'm thinking, shit maybe longer.
I am leaning towards building it out though.

Explain to the wife what a big project that is (to fill the wall in) and leave it with the current TV. Then add a drop down 100 plus inch screen and mount a projector, problem solved
You could also pull the TV out and put a child gate on there, thrown kid in behind gate, drop down screen, crank surround sound.

So fixed the sprinkler issue out front now I can water my grass 3 times a... I mean once a week, Cali drought = Ugly ass dead grass. Tossed around getting artificial grass.
Anyway, I've been too lazy to go look at receivers maybe this week or the week after since I don't go back to work until July 6.
Went to Home Depot before we even bought the house and picked out some tile we liked. Then as of yesterday we decided that 18x18 is too big for the size of our bathroom so we are back on the hunt for a different tile in 12x12.
Spa is officially ready to go, after spending around $200 to get everything. Old filters were shot (should have took a picture) needed to get the PH up etc etc...

Aww yeah
As for the vertical blinds, they're not pleasing to the eye, but provide valuable shade within the house. I wouldn't ditch them yet.

like old school vertical hanging blinds?
If so, the kids are going to snap the tabs and pull them off for sure.. you'll have sparsely covered windows.

Joe, those are the ones I used to have.
I did go to Home Depot just now, they have sliders with blinds that are "built in the slider door". I have been eyeing a new slider door anyway because I'm not a fan of the one I currently have, kind of old. Next time I am in there I'm going to have the give me a quote and see about getting it installed, I believe they wanted a little under $1000 for it.

! Yeah the vertical blinds are the de facto for those doors but the built in ones would be awesomesauce!!!
less dust/maintenance on them too!

Late to the party but sweet upgrade!
We don't have a large sliding door like that, just a single door, but also looking at a replacement with the built in blinds. It's just a cleaner look and less worry/cleaning. Great choice and happy early bday!

Update: nothing to get super excitied about, but I am a little.
2 ceiling fans for the kids rooms, gets a little warm up there will probably install this weekend.
Also, going to rip out the carpet in the master and put tile have to go get the rest of the supplies when I don't have the kids so I can have more space to haul it..
Also bought this wall unit storage to store miscellaneous crap in the garage.
Finally bought my receiver, this build is going to come together slowly since I'm watching the "fun fund" I may have to put my fun fund towards something else.
