EBSCO Research, ever here of them?

I got a magazine in the mail, seems to be put together by these people. It offers suggestions for companies in the area to do work on your home. As the report is named "Best Picks Reports" Quality Home Services Guide 2011".

Ratings by EBSCO Research, Best Pick Reports.com

Never heard of them but looks like they get an A+ from BBB.
I wonder how they compare to Angie's list. I never used Angie's either.

Well that Angie's List backlash is five years old. And I would give a company a bad grade for not returning even the first phone call. To not reply, even to a potential customer is wrong.

I saw that, but with them not having direct contact with the public for services given. It's hard to say how that rating works. They give you information for service companies and they work for the public.

It's hard to find a good company for work, even when your neighbor suggests them. You could get a entire different crew working on your your than there's.

I've found a plumber/owner, he does his own work. No I need someone to resolve a water issue with my patio door and siding. Has been a big PITA!

That was just one of the first results. They are also notorious for invading any website that talks poorly about them.

I'm going to have to look into that, when I have more time.

I've been on Angie's list for over a year and got a top-rated electrician through it; he is a good communicator as well as technically proficient.

A roofer, plumbers and fumigation services I found independently and patronized were also top-rated on Angie's List.

I haven't had an issue with any contractor in over 10 years, but I check contractors' state/local licenses and BBB records in addition to Angie's List & consumer reviews before getting estimates or having substantial work done.
