Dog peed on the carpet

Ok so my gf's dog peed on the carpet and i didnt realize it until i came back a week later. Needless to say the carpet has a huge yellow pee stain even after having it steam cleaned. I need to move out and was wondering if anyone had ideas for covering it up so i can get my security deposit back. Thanks a lot and yes i know its gross, freakin dog but i really want my 1250 back and the carpet was trashed when i moved in so i dont feel too bad

So, how did you not notice until a week later? Where was the dog that week?

Cut a square from a closet and seat it in the spot where the stain is... They won't know about the closet untill long after you are gone with your cash. :thief:

Even if you don't get that stain off you still get some of your security deposit back (1250-whatever the cost for them to clean it up). I would recommend you to clean up much as you can.

Have the dog pee all over the rest of the carpet so it'll blend.

Get a good carpet cleaner, one that has enzymes in it like Nature's Miracle, and scrub and steam clean

If you can't get it cleaned this is the best idea. I'd exhaust all of your cleaning ideas 1st though...

Buy a carpet knife. Use either a piece of plywood of a metal sign as guide. Cut out the squares and swap them. You won't even be able to tell you did it... definitely use a something as a guide though they need to be cut identical; if you try free hand cutting it won't work well.

we moved last weekend and my cat decided the berber in our basement made a nice new litterbox. luckily Resolve got the stains out, i'm hoping it got the odors out too.

the cat is 1-strike away from being hung from the tree as Coydog bait.

...and make sure when you put the new carpet down, you have the 'grain' going correctly. all carpets have a direction that the carpet tends to lay. If you lay all the carpet one way: //////////// and the old carpet is the other way:\\\\\\\\\\ it'll be pretty obvious when someone vacuums it: \\\\\\\\///////\\\\\\\\\

(nice visuals, huh )

kitty is trying to tell you something... perhaps watch him/her a little better. might be sick or upset about something.
