Crushed glass tiles

Any one do crushed glass tiles in their home? I'm thinking about putting some as a black splash in my kitchen. Only brand I'm familiar with is Hakatai. They got some cool stuff, wondering if there are other companies out there with good stuff.

We considered it and we ordered all of Hakatai's sample kits, but I wasn't in love with them.

Price varies on style and design. Somewhere in the ballpark of $12-20 a sq ft, thats why I'm only doing it as a back splash cause I'm not a baller

No a big fan of tiny tiles with lots of grout lines. Do they offer larger tiles?

Doesn't look that impressive to me... perhaps something larger?

It definitely looks better in person, we have it at work, I'll try to snap a picture and post tomorrow.

DO NOT do larger glass tiles. that'd be silly. half the point of glass tiles is their small size.

they may not be for everyone but their popularity and ubiquity has been in place for nearly a decade now so i'd bet they're here to stay. especially considering the eco-benefits of using these.

I like the look myself, one thing you could do to save money would be to splash some in with normal ceramic tiles. The glass tiles would add color. I second soopa's reccomendation about ordering samples too.

I ordered samples of the Aventurine line. We have one of the colors here at work, and it looks great.

A friend of ours had it installed as a backsplash over their granite counters. Looks really nice. I think they might have used mostly sheets, but replaced random squares with loose tiles to break up the color monotony. I can't remember for sure, though.

Actually, it is all various shades of tile. This isn't the greatest pic, but gives you an idea.
