Wusthof makes fine cutlery. If it's worth it to you depends on, if wether or not you can appreciate nice things, and, how you plan to use it. YES - the knives are worth the $$$ to me.

I like good knives for cooking. I think that brand is ok, but if I'm going to spend that much on knives I want a little more for my buck. Like a better grip on the handles.
This might get more responses in Home and Garden :tongue : good luck

I guess you haven't bought any knives before. Those are top of line! I think thats very good investment. Those knives last forever....

That set is the Wustof 'starter set" and as such, is a pretty decent deal. The blades are not as thick as in some of the topline Wustof knives, but unless you are a gourmet cook providing food for dozens weekly, the set will stand you in good stead.

And - good knives, well-maintained, should last for decades. We have Wustof, handwash and dry them, keep them in a wood holder, and don't let them stand around with foodstuffs glued to them for days. we sharpen them carefully when needed. most of the Wustof that my wife and I have is about 25-30 years old at this point.

Good knives DO make a difference in the ease and comfort of cooking. if your wife enjoys cooking, decent knives are just part of the deal.

And if you think Wustof is expensive, then wait until she discovers All-Clad pots and pans...................

IDK I got a set that looks like that, & had a can opener & sharpener off Ebay for $60.
They work just fine for me.
That looks like it has a pair of scissors? Why spend so much $ for scissors?

I think they look pretty good. A good all round set. Not the best, but will be perfect for everyday use.
