Concrete porch suggestions . . .

What to do to make it look better? Not paint, too plain. Not red brick. I like it, but all the neighbors house have already been redone with brick. Ideas/suggestions/links?
Thanx

Pics would certainly help.

you can paint it with a pattern to make it look like brick or whatever. (use masking tape)

Size? Budget?

The pattern idea may work, but I think you would use a stain rather than paint. You could use pavers for accents rather than red brick.

BTW, are we talking front or back porch?

Small front porch maybe 6' x 15' with (1) step. Budget is not a problem. I would have liked to do brick, but like I said, it's what everyone seems to be using and don't want to be a "me too".

Use a natural stone or manufactured pavers. I've seen some large rectangular slate - solid and consistent grey color, not multicolored, that might work. They are something like 12 x 20. Don't know if that would go with the color of your house, but it's fairly neutral.

Something like this:

I was going to say Terra Cotta tiles... Then I realised it is the sides, not necessarily the surface you are looking to finish. What about a stucco...

Just put some flagstone on top of it and be done with it.

You could also polish it down, lt sand blast it, and then chem stain it - stains available from Scofield or Davis Colors

It's done . . .

Actually being finished up tomorrow. Higgins Brick, Monument style. The guy doing the work was the best contractor I have used in 33 years of home ownership. This guys brick work is like cancer, it keeps spreading! Simple porch job turned into porch and steps for both house entrances, (2) large planters and walkway. Now thinking of doing the back patio and flower beds in the back yard. Just my little bit to help the economy I guess.

I'm sure it will turn out great, but we'd rather see pics

BTW, I thought you were trying to avoid red brick. What changed your mind?
