Thanks guys! I've been going downright with all the cleaning, furniture shopping, painting, now looking at window treatments, etc. I'm still only there on weekends since my laptop and office furniture are not in yet. Can't work from home 3-4 days a week as planned until I have that stuff. So only having 2 days a week to get anything done has been pretty tough.

We actually rented a truck last Friday and moved a bunch of stuff in, including a mattress and box spring, so at least we are not sleeping on an air mattress anymore. Over the weekend, we painted what will be my office, so that's ready when the furniture arrives. Next up is paint the master bedroom so I can get professional movers to bring my bedroom set (it's too damn heavy for us to move).

We're painting everything, room by room. It's just going to take a while because both our schedules are wacky and I'm hardly there yet. Something we realized last week after painting: not only is every room in the house painted this peachy color, but every CEILING as well. Kinda strange, and that's why I couldn't shake this feeling of monotony in the house. Ha. At least my office has a white ceiling now (and no more peach walls).

Thought I'd give a little update now that it's been a couple of months since we closed. I actually just got here full time only the first week of April, so it hasn't been that long for me yet.

Here's what we've done so far:

Furniture:
my office - delivered
family room sofas - delivered
patio furniture - delivered
kitchen table & chairs - on order
master BR furniture - still at my old house, need to schedule movers

Paint:
my office
master bedroom - work in progress
dining room ceiling painted white
2 out of 3 smaller bedrooms ceiling painted white (the entire house, walls and ceilings, were all peach)

Inside House - Other:
Hunter Douglas blinds - on order for most of house
Bay window - 1 pane being replaced - on order

Yard/Landscape:
John Deere X320 being delivered today
I planted 18 creeping phlox in the bed along the front walk
Put down Preen for Garden in planting beds
Put down grass seed where truck got stuck in huge snow storm
Fertilized lawn with Scotts Crabgrass Preventer, now need to do Turf Builder/broad leaf weed killer
Nursery guy coming today to evaluate trees/shrubs that need help
Weeded planting beds
Can't trim shrubs until after they flower
Some shrubs will be coming out - either sick/dead/decimated by deer (probably next year project)
shed - need to start looking
Spigot - needs replacing, it's leaking

I'm probably forgetting some stuff. It's been insanely busy and money is flying out all the windows. Where can I find one of those money trees??

But things are good and we are starting to feel more comfortable here. It's taking me a bit longer to acclimate since he has worked up here for 7 years now, and I just moved here. I still don't really know my way around because all my free time has been spent doing stuff around the house/yard. I haven't had any time to explore the area at all. I'm also going down to my office in Jersey 2 days/week. So far it is working out fine, it's just exhausting with all the stuff going on here.

Looking forward to vacation to Myrtle Beach May 2. We could use some time away from the craziness.

I have one growing in my back yard, but my wife harvests it every day at dawn.
