Post Class Action Lawsuit on Mowers Purchased...

If you bought a gas mower under 30 hp between Jan. 1, 1994 and April 12, 2010, go to this site... www.lawnmowerclass.com

You'll probably receive $35 for a walk behind and $75 for a rider in the settlement.

Just saw this. I wonder if SVTMike's wife thought her walk-behind was really more powerful than it really was after she mowed over that stump...

Pm me your serial numbers... I'll claim your $35.

In fact this Saturday, I'm going to the landfill with my iPad and record every junk mower there. Then I'm headed to every Sears, Home Depot and Lowes to get their serial numbers... figure I could score at least $10K for 20 hours of work.

I believe the card says you also need your receipt.

It's a $35 credit toward purchase of a new mower, not a check for $35.

The online form doesn't ask for a receipt; Don't see it on the card.

I just hope this class action isn't like the DeBeers diamond settlement... still waiting for my $600.

The postcard says you have to opt out also, otherwise you will be included in the settlement to get your $35.

Lucky for me I didn't throw out my old mower yet, so I get two claims.

I had one stolen, but still have all of the numbers. Since I was the first owner, I plan to claim it.

BTW... the online claims form is as simple as pie... just have the serial numbers from the engine and the mower frame.

Sweet I'm going to get $75

I was wondering why snow blowers from Ariens were no longer being rated in horsepower. They now rate them in cc. I guess it's related.
Kohler will pay $3.5 million into the Settlement Fund. Kohler will also conform its power testing practices to the new Certified Power Rating standard. In addition, Kohler will provide a one year extended engine warranty to all Class Members with Kohler engines in their lawn mowers.
extended warranty too!

I bought 3 tractors since '94 - one I sold, one I gave away. I am pretty sure i can get the numbers off the one I gave away - not sure about the one sold. They owe me $225!! I wonder how many years this will take?

I received my warranty extension certificate today and a check for $21.84. It was supposed to be $75. Greedy ass lawyers say, "because of the substantial number of claims received...FFFFFFFFFUUUUU"

Well $21.84 and another year warranty > nothing.

Last week, I received a check for $10.XX, which is > nothing, especially for a well-used old push mower.
I should use the money to buy oil and a spark plug for the thing, or maybe a blade sharpening.

Got mine for $21.84... long way to $75 as promised. But for three minutes of effort, it's still o.k.

Same 21.84 and warranty extension. For the price of a stamp not bad.
