Any plumbers on here?

Need some plumbing advice... Any plumbing experts?

Here are 2 pictures of the drain pipe for my washer and on the other side of the wall is the bathroom sink with a P trap. I don't know much about plumbing but I don't think this is set up right. I need to redo this and add ventilation. I was thinking about putting in a air admittance valve as vent since I don't have a way to run piping to the main vent stacks. Any thoughts on what would be the right way to redo this?

Does it not drain properly? It's possible that it's vented somewhere else in the system.

That is the same question I asked myself when i saw it. That is how it was when we bought the house and I know that wasn't right at all. My guess is that since there is no ventilation in that drain they tapped that into the drain and ran a small hose from there over to the garage so use as ventilation.

this is all on the lower floor of the house / basement. It seems to be draining fine but as stogie pointed out they tapped into the drain line to let air in but that is totally a wrong and stupid way to do it. I don't think it's vented anywhere else in the system because it doesn't connect anywhere to the main ventilation of the house.

Plug that vent and try draining water through it. If it goes just fine, it's vented elsewhere.

The way I'd do this is to move the W/D P trap above the point where the sink line enters the system. This way you don't have a big mess on your hands if one clogs. Other than that, it looks fine to me?

Since I have all of the drywall ripped apart I think I am just going replace the pipe instead of plugging and add ventilation. Should the vent go after / underneath the P trap?

I am thinking putting this in for my vent:
Mini-Vent AAV for Branch Ventilation

when you look at the pipe for the bathroom sink, are you sure there is no vent that goes up from there? if there isn't and those are the only pipes on the line, cut everything out like you are planning and install that cheat vent... just make sure you install the vent as per the directions... i have seen people bury that vent in a wall and question why there were weird smells coming from the wall because the vent failed... just triple check and make sure the line isn't vented above the bathroom sink first... use the AAV as a last resort if you can't tie into the current vent system...

Thanks! for everyone's help! I was able to talk to a plumper and this is what he told me to do:

"I would cut the wood away from the 2'' pipe coming out of the concrete

cut that pipe off 1 1/2'' above the floor start as low as you can,,so that the p trap for the washer is as low as you can get it"
