Set Destination in Navigation TLX

Hello all

I was so happy to see this video on the official Acura channel showcasing how you can say the address in one go instead of spelling out the words like the previous version. It was so nice to see Acura finally catching up with the competition but the happiness was short lived.

I got the TLX loaner since my car isn't delivered yet and that's not how the navigation in the car works. It's still the old crappy system where you have to push the talk button and spell out the work.

To type MAPLE by voice I have to do the following:

Push button and say M
Push button and say A
....
Push button and say E

Which is ridiculous. How did this system even get approved?

Below is the video showcasing how you can say the entire address in one go.
Does anyone's TLX does this?

The video pertains to the U.S. models where one voice command for the entire address works. Unfortunately, perhaps because of the french/english aspect, the canadian system is not set up that way. Better off to use the touch screen for the street address, which you can do quickly while stopped. It takes 20 seconds, depending upon length of the street name. Conversely, download it the night before from home computer using Acura Link, or call Acura link while driving and they download it for you. As a Canadian, you should have one free year of Acura Link which includes a concierge service.

Mine works by just saying the address. First I have to issue the command "address", then the second command is just the complete address. So far its about 80% accurate on the first pass, but if it messes up something, you can use the back button to just step back... so if it gets the city and state right but the street name wrong, you can just press back and repeat just the street name.

Let me guess. You're in the States.

I am. Chalk it up as a first here... something works better here than elsewhere. At least you folks up north get heated windshields and steering wheels. :-)

I have a US model and am 0/7 on voice commands so have NEVER used voice commands after buying the car and realizing it sucks.
