Does anybody know anything about ADT's new Custom Home Services program? Is it worth looking into?

ADT= A death trap.

 

Care to elaborate? I have had them in my last two places and they have been in all of my family's houses and we have always been pleased. Plus, I get a discout from USAA with them.

 

Just visited the ADT website:
Nevermind it seems they do actually offer truly monitored systems these days (in the past they were just a disbatch), before they were just like any old burglar alarm when it come to residential. The police and medics can't actually enter without evidence of a crime or medical emergency. That's why I didn't like them in the past. My grandmother had an attempted break in while she was gone and all the police could do was walk around outside. Now they have systems that call your cell phone when your away and offer two way voice so that police and medics have permission to enter your home. For instance you or a loved one have a heart attack and hit the medic button, if the medic doesn't see you or hear your voice when they arrive they can't come inside to help you by law. The voice feature changes all that, because the call center now can do more than just disbatch services. I guess they've gotten much better.

 

You work for USAA or just have insurance through them? I have a relative that did claims adjustments for them.

hey guys, lol my dad and both my bros both work for adt, and i did 2 summer internships there before..Basically the new "custom homes" is basically for people with nicer, high scale homes. its pretty much the same thing, just trying to make sure everything is made available to you, such as cameras. I can say that they are a great company, and we all have them in our homes with nice discounts..if anyone in the philly area needs one let me know, i know a handful of great guys that could help you out.
