Working Out When Sick
So who here will work out no matter what? I'm insanely sick right now and am just not up to heading to the gym. Any very light intensity activities you can suggest that wouldn't totally kill me?

This, in my opinion, is a fundamental rule: If you dont feel like going to the gym a given day, then simply rest.
The above is extremely important. REst, recovery, is as important as stimulation (what you do in the gym). Few understand that and even fewer execute on it.
And notice I wrote "if you dont feel like going", let alone, being sick.
Your body knows better than your head as to what's going on...

Actually, I pretty much live by this rule. I rarely miss a day that I'm supposed to go to the gym. This gives me a little wiggle room for those days that I just feel out of it or too tired to go. I figure that I go so often, missing a day won't kill me.
If you absolutely rigidly force yourself to go, I think it leads to burnout.

I can't do that 3 day a week thing because when me and a friend started working out if something came up on that day we work out then boom, 2 times a week. So we just shoot for 6 or 7 so if we miss one or two, big deal.

I reduce my workout or knock it off completely. If I can do a reduced workout, I give it a shot until my body tells me to quit. Also, I like to think about the other folks around me; running around sneezing and coughing in a gym is so - tacky.

I've always been told a light jog/brisk walk/any light cardio isn't a bad thing if you have a cold.
I know however, lifting takes up energy that your immune system needs to fight off the infection. (Especialyl if you lift heavy). Sickness + lifting = more sickness.
