Question Protein bars

It is recommended to consume 1 gram of protein per 1 lbs of your weight. It is also recommended that you consume protein in every meal you eat. I do the "eat every 2-3 hours" deal and its sometimes hard for me to consume protein on the snack times. I figured protein bars will help out that problem. It is ALSO recommended to consume different kinds of protein and I want to try the protein bars. Which bars are the best? I have looked at diff protein bars here and there and haven't really narrowed down the best ones. I want one that is low carbohydrate and high protein with a low gram sugar.

Which do you guys buy or recommend?

Those don't look too bad. They use whey protein.. It has 3g of saturated fat and about 17g of carb though.

Detour bars are great. EAS makes some good bars as well. You could also try RTD liquid protein (muscle milk tastes great).

If you decide to use Detour Bars, look to get the low sugar ones, so you will have a large amount of protein in the bar, and lower overall carbohydrate than the normal bar.

I currently use Pure Protein (Peanut butter Crunch) and it has 20g of protein and lower amounts of sugar and sat fats.

Good luck, oh and also, don't take everything that you read from sources like bodybuilding.com as absolute fact, people like to put just about anything on the internet and it gets misleading sometimes.

i think shakes are better. pure protein has i think 4 flavors with like 35 gs of protein, like 2 g fat and 2-5 gs carbs. pure protein bars are pretty good too and theres supreme protein bars which pack 51 g of protein.

Promax bars are the best tasting ones I've ever eaten, but they only have 20g of protein though. They're reasonably priced too.

Animal Snack is has like 30g of protein but I got sick of them fast.

I always get the Met-RX Big 100 bars. I normally only eat 1/2 at a time, as they are est. 410 calories, 32g protein, 42g carbs, 14g fat. The are a combo of soy/milk/whey proteins, and the Super Cookie Crunch is amazing! I get coupons off:

And they have coupons for $2 off when you buy 2 bars for .15cents a coupon. Its almost buy-1-get-1-free. They had these coupons up for close to a year and they are awesome!

I think protein bars are overrated. Just drink some milk and eat some peanut butter.

^ Protein bars are good for "on the go" meals. I eat them on the way home from the gym or an after lunch snack before I go to the gym. I do not eat protein bars when I am at home because I will have something else in the fridge, but it's kind of hard to bring milk and peanut butter with you when you're on the road all the time for work.

^Sometimes the healthiest most effective foods, taste the worst. Sorry but for me taste is not an issue if the results are beneficial.
