Answer to Quitting Smoking?!

Hello fellow members,

Just wanted to share something in regard to smoking. I've been a smoker for 8+ years of my life. Smoking about a pack a day. As of today it has been 1 week without smoking. Let me tell you how I did it...

I've switched to a E-Cigarette. I purchased a Maxx Fusion kit from www.bloogplanet.com which is considered the best kit in the market. It's a great and safer "alternative" to quitting smoking and gradually stopping as your lowering your Nicotine intake. On the side note it doesn't contain the 4000+ chemicals in a normal cigarette. It's much safer in my opinion.

Any smokers out there looking for a new way to attempt quitting? Check it out below.

Give me your feedback and tell me what you think? I'm curious if anyone would have any success also...

The two people that I know that have tried e-cigs are both back at the real ones.

I know one person that used laser treatment and hasn't touched a cig since.

I guess I got lucky. I smoked a pack a day for about a year and a half.
Went camping one week and couldn't buy a pack. Ended up not buying anymore and it's been 4 months since I've touched one.

In another car forum that I belong to (an Infiniti FX forum) I had posted a thread a while back on e-cigs, just because it was new at the time and I thought it was worthy enough for a thread. Anyway, one of the mods tried it and it got him off smoking. Other members have tried it and weren't as successful, and some just laughed at the idea. But in the end, my posting got at least ONE person to quit, knowing that he'll most likely live a few years longer was enough for me.

side note: my dad passed away from lung cancer and he wasn't even a smoker

E_Cigs are cool, but you're still supplying yourself and addiction with nicotine, I quit cold turkey and that's really the best way in my opinion. What I did was ween myself down, from full flavors, to lights, to ultra lights, then after a while, I realized it was silly to be paying money to not only kill myself, but smoke paper (ultra lights) and then I just quit. I actually carried a pack around with me for like a month and didn't smoke one, then finally just threw the pack away once they were super stale

I threw them away about 3 months ago and I'm totally fine with it...don't even think about it anymore. Now my coffee mug, you'd have to pry that out of my cold dead hands.

Mind over matter. YOU have to quit and not rely on gimmicks.

If it means not socializing outside with smokers, then thats what you have to do.

I'm sure can find comprehensive info about the procedure online. As it was described to me, it is like acupuncture, but with a laser. The treatment area seems to be specific to the ear, for whatever reason. But for the person that had the procedure done, the results were immediate. No cravings at all after leaving the Dr. office, and never any since.

Smoke weed for a couple weeks and no cigarettes. When you are done with the weed you won't be craving the nicotine.

Electronic cigarettes don't burn and don't give off smoke. But they're at the center of a social and legal debate over whether it's OK to "light up" in places where regular smokes are banned. Despite big differences between cigarettes and their electronic cousins, several states, workplaces and localities across the country have explicitly included e-cigs in smoking bans.

I had my last cigarette at 11:56pm on NYE 3yrs ago. Said it was my NY resolution to quit and all my friends doubted me. Haven't had one since and quit cold turkey.

Been about 3 months almost. Still on the E-cig. I have also convinced 3 more friends along the way and they are having success also. So far so good.

Cold turkey after mentally psyching myself up for it over a period of a couple of months. It's been a couple of years now, and it's one of the best decisions I ever made.

I quit cold turkey before we decided to have a child(been smoke free since). Its been hard though coz my hubs smokes cigarettes. No, he does not smoke in the house or around our child. But, I have to say im am going to try to help him cut down and hopefully eventually quit. Thank you for the info. Christmas is on its way...lol
