Tsx Battery can't jump other cars?
So this has been bugging me lately. A lot of my friends always call me for a jump, since i usually need a jump from them half the time during winter.
Is it me or is the tsx battery too small to jumpstart a dead car?
Today was really oddy I tried jumping a friends 08 stock tsx at. It didn't even get any juice really but it did turn slowly.
After 10 minutes we gave up and asked my friend who had a portable jump pack.
That took 2 minutes to be able to start the car...
So any ideas guys?
I did look at my voltmeter on my brockway sensor.
Idle my car runs 14.2- 14.4 and while jumping it went down to 13.1 and maybe 12.1 v.
Does any of it sound fishy on my end?

I've jumped a few vehicles with my TSX and stock battery. The voltmeter readings are about where I'd expect them to be. If the dead battery is completely dead, it can take a while to get a good enough charge into it to get the vehicle started. Were you trying to start it during that 10 minute stretch? Cause draining the little bit of juice it's getting will only set you further behind. If it doesn't start after 2 minutes, wait more than 2 before trying again.

Someone stole "My Garage"
I've jumped my wife's car numerous times with my TSX.
When you hook the cables up, you are making sure to connect the black clamp on the engine block of the dead car, right? And the other 3 clamps go on their proper posts.
Once you've done this, wait a few minutes to let your TSX alternator charge the dead battery a bit, maybe 3-5 minutes if the dead battery is really low on juice.
Then try to start the dead car. If nothing, wait a few minutes longer this time while your TSX is still running.
It wouldn't hurt to test out new cables either since yours might be defective. You can test this with a multimeter pretty easily but new cables are cheap and hey it never hurts to have 2 sets for the extra length sometimes. Get the thickest copper core ones you can find, as opposed to thin copper with lots of insulation. You might be able to compare this by looking where the wires meet the clamps.

Given my Optima RT-35, I jumped the wife's 09 Pilot Touring the day after we got it. Battery had sat for a while. Plan to put an Optima in it when it goes, though Honda puts decent batteries in the Pilot.

Oliver!!!
I've found a lot of it depends on the cables your using too. I've tried to use cheapo cables to jump cars in the past. Sat with a friend's TT for 15 minutes and couldn't get it started. Changed cables to a better set and it fired right up as soon as the cables were attached.
