A-Spec seats

I took a test drive in a 19 SHAWD A spec today and was unable to find a comfortable seat position. I’m 5’6” and think maybe the seats aren’t designed for short people. Love the car but I can’t pull the trigger on a car with uncomfortable seats. Anyone have a similar issue?

Assuming they are alcantara seats, yes they are stiff in the beginning but will loosen up over time and get much more comfortable.

They were red leather which may do the same. I think it might have to do with a longer seat bottom due to the leg extension.

I'll re-iterate; my 2018 A-SPEC, SH-AWD, is nearly perfect, except the seats, which do NOT raise high enough from the rear; I always feel like I'm slouching, which causes lower back pain. My Chevy Malibu rental, had MUCH BETTER seat comfort; UNACCEPTABLE! Acura must think all Americans are little people. I'm 6'0"; 170 lbs. Not exactly Gigantor, & no matter how many adjustments I make, the seat just doesn't lift high enough.

I think you hit it on the head...the seat position gave me lower back discomfort which was a deal killer for me. Thanks

I agree with you 100%. The seat in both of my TLXs have never been "right". The back rest is WAY to hard down around the lumbar support. Took a 400 mile drive last week and thought about killing myself at least a dozen times. The seat sits at a tilted back position which naturally puts even more pressure on your lower lumber support because your naturally falling back down into the seat. I can reduce discomfort by making the backrest more vertical and lowering the seat height but pain is always still there. You would think that seat comfort in a car would be a Non issue for a very healthy 26 year old.

If it’s at all helpful, I moved away from Acura because both of my interiors fell apart due to inferior materials and thin leather.

My Lexus IS F Sport has the most comfortable seats of any car I’ve owned. Similar price to TLX a-Spec. Great car as long as you’re a fan of the styling.

I’ve never had the interior fall apart on any Acura I’ve ever owned over the last 20 years, but then I also actively maintain them. I have a 1999 NSX that also is in pretty good shape interior wise. @Brettka7 , what do you do in your cars that the interior falls apart?

As for the A-Spec seats, I love them! I’m 5’10”, 175 pounds, and have long legs. I was able to find a good seating position and I’m still slim enough that the bolsters hold me in nicely. No trouble on long road trips, either. Then again, I’m used to the super-low seating position in my NSX, so I guess that’s something. Every body is a little different, I guess.

Agree. Never had an issue with a Honda/Acura interior falling apart. Worse case was a dimple from my elbow on the door trim.

5'11" 180 pound 44 yr old and love my A-Spec seats. they are red though and not the alcantara. they're a bit more plush than my previous car, BMW F30 Sport, which were stiffer.

Funny...ive had the EXACT opposite experience...with a 2017 IS F sport.

I found the leather to be no where close to that of my dads 2018 Aspec TLX....
