Door Courtesy lights won't come on

Hi, I have a 97 RL that I recently picked up cheap because of some minor issues. One of those is none of the door courtesy lights do not come on under any circumstance.
Here's a few things
1) replaced bulbs with known good bulbs
2) battery voltage good
3) the ignition ring and both overhead lights come on and slowly dim after the door is closed just like they should
4) I'm not totally sure if the footwell is supposed to be lit, but it's not.

Thanks

I realize the previous post has some grammar errors but I don't see how to edit a post.

Did you check all fuses?

I got conflicting answers when I searched as to which fuse it would be, so I did a visual check on the 7.5A "small lights" fuses and they both looked good. I also looked at the 20A fuses and looked ok. I moved the fuses around within the same amperage to see if the problem changed and nothing did change.
I've read some people suggesting the multiplex controller, but I'm unsure if testing procedure and it looks like their are 2, each in the kick panels. I would hate to buy one just in hopes of it fixing the issue, especially for something so minor.

These are for a 2002. Not sure how different your car is.

Thank You!! I think I'm going to pull the passenger side multiplex unit and check it out. It would be nice if it's something cheap like a cold solder joint that can be resoldered.

Ok, so I got this fixed. I went ahead and bought a used passenger side multiplex unit off of Ebay. They had it listed for $20 with free shipping or best offer. I offered $15 shipped and they accepted it. It was listed as being from a 99 RL, but it worked. That thing was a pain in the butt to remove and replace. As soon as I plugged it in, the door lights worked and the key chime started working too and I never really noticed that didn't work until it did. Thanks everybody for the help.
