Hey guys I recently got this car about two months ago and was rear ended about a day or two ago by a kid on his way to school. Apparently he needed some new tires and it was raining that morning. I was called by the insurance agency and they told me that I need to bring it in on the 10th to get inspected. Just wondering if you guys think that it is totaled or not by the photos.
it's fairly close to being written off. The one 1/4 panel on the passenger side buckled and is bent. To fix that is going to take effort since that's an integral part of the car. (you can see what I mean by looking at the slope of the rear area by the trunk downwards.
You are lucky that 1 side took a brunt of the damage and not both. Due to this, it's on the edge of being a total loss.
Year, miles and trim? That way we can pull up a value.
Rear Bumper & Paint: $550
New Tail-light: $100
New Trunk Lid & Paint: $500
Fixing 1/4 Panel & paint: $2K
Estimate: $3200 in repairs
I got really bad inpect with an Audi that I used to had, and i only got small scratch in the rear bumper...
I'm kinda scared knowing that if i do hit someone or someone hits me, that car is total garbage,
Nothing like back in the 80's big ass bumps, car made out of steal, crazy sub frame. these days are gone...
I'm glad your ok, and others if they were involved....
If the car gets going,, just get another
You clearly have no idea how cars work these days and you should clearly never work for an auto manufacturer. Those "solid" cars of days gone by are much much much more dangerous to your health.

Lol in a sense QuickTL is right. I love my car and will be sad if it is considered totaled, but then again at least I don't have any injuries. I could always save up a bit and get a newer one with less miles. Thanks again guys for the suggestions I appreciate it.

yea multiple people have said that to me but I got it for 6,600 and apparently its only worth 5,900
Had neck and back issues for a few months, but luckily I didn't even get a bruise! Thanks for the concern. But yeah, your car is more than likely totaled. I'd be surprised if it isn't.
Damn man that sounds pretty rough. I will just have to see, a guy from Geico is coming tomorrow to checking it out and give me an estimate hopefully it's a good outcome
let us know, man...
awesome old vs new video crash, wow. Gonna share that at the company safety meeting for all the old school Murrika fuck yeah crowd!
Update: Estimator came by today and said that it shouldn't be written off and that I could either wait till the middle of January and go to a Geico body shop or visit other ones in town. So I've decided to visit some shops in town and get some estimates that are around that price, who know maybe even try to get the shop to do a little of the modifications with the left over money

Tell me about it, apparently there were 3 other crashes on the same day and a couple before and after me. There goes the referred body shop. Thanks nist I appreciate it.
I guess I have to do my best to try and stay in the budget and find a shop that will do it for 5k or less. I will keep everyone posted on how everything turns out.
Hey guys just wanted to update y'all on everything. Its in the shop and estimated about $3,180 for the repair bill. The car will be back on the roads in about 16 days. I will post some pictures up as soon as everythings done.
Sorry to hear about you having to deal with the same bull$hit as me
Yours doesn't look nearly as bad as mine. Got my thread somewhere here, mine looked much worse and I'm glad I walked out fine.
Hope you're not sore or anything. Another TL would be a great idea, I decided to get a new car instead as I haven't had much luck with used cars for my 3 previous ones.
edit: somehow skipped your latest update. glad to hear it'll be back on the road!
