Today I bought 4 Qts of the Honda ATF and 3 Qts of Dexron III (for the waste) and I also bought a tranny cooler. I do need a little help though if anyone dont mind.

1) I can't find the bolt to remove to drain the tranny. There's so many bolts on there.

2) Can't find the hoses to the radiator to attach the tranny cooler.

If anyone has a DIY with PICs on these please point me to them, if you dont mind. Thanks in advance

Thanks man, that looks pretty simple. I will give it a shot this weekend. Any clue on the bolt to drain the tranny? I plan on doing the drain and fill (with the waste fluid) first then install the cooler and then add the Honda ATF.

For any of you getting ready to do a drain and fill.... I recomend picking up some Seafoam Tranny treatment. Dont add it to your fill, just add a little b4 draining. I added about 1/3 of the can and drove about 15 miles b4 draining. Then drove a regular day (about 50 miles) and drained and filled again. If you havn't drained and filled for a while, I would recommend this. For those of you who drain and fill on a regular basis, then you dont need my advice cuz you prob. know what your doing. just my

Do I need to put the car on jack stands to access that bolt or simply reach underneath and unscrew it like the one for the radiator?

Also any clue as to where exactly, to the left, center or right side of the tranny?

It depends on what type of container your putting it in if it will fit under your car. Granted, its going to be harder to move around if your car is on the ground. But I have done it many times without jacks. The drain plug is (looking towards the engine from the front) on the bottom front right side directly under the filler bolt. You will see it once under the car.

I tried the drain and fill this weekend, but no luck. I had the car up on stands and could not find the drain bolt. i removed three bolts facing downward on the tranny and that wasn't them. Even moved one that was horizontal on the tranny and still no drip. Also tried to install the tranny cooler no luck on that one either, because the bolts on that metal tray that the battery seats on would not budge. I even broke a socket trying to remove the bolts.

I've decided to take it to a shop to have the drain and fill done and will bring in the 4 qts of honda ATF i bought and have them loosen these bolts on the battery tray for me so i can install the cooler.

Bought a bottle of Seafoam this weekend, will be adding it to my tranny on friday and do the drain and fill on saturday. Found a place to do a drain and fill for about $40, after i'm done i will install the tranny cooler and maybe add the lucas oil treatment, hopefully this will add some more life to my tranny.

wish me luck

i think ill lend a hand to everyone wanting to do a transmission drain and fill. on acura's and honda's the drain bolt everyone is talking about is not really a bolt in the sense that you can place a socket or wrench on it. You actually need a 3/8" square drive ratchet to loosen the Bolt everyone is illuding to. on Acura 3.2 Cl's the "bolt" is on the transmission facing the drivers side tire. You will see a square hole in this bolt and a washer on it as well. using the 3/8" drive ratchet place the ratchet without any socket inside the bolt head. then loosen and thats how to remove the drain bolt. ill try to post pic to help others out.
I did my drain and fill at 65K on my 3.2cl 01and she runs like a champion now. The dealer wanted 80 bucks for the tranny drain n fill and i just bought a case for $50 and did it myself. with the other $30 i saved i might take out a lady or get gasoline. either way i got money in the bank.
