Buying new car soon and question on TLX transmission
There are a couple of used V6 TLX's I am looking (actually waited because I prefer the used route).
Are there known transmission issues with this vehicle? I know TL 00-03 had major tranny problems..

By all means read those threads as well as the "9 Speed Transmission Explained" and "Hope for rough shifts" threads. More importantly, as it is difficult to separate fact from opinion, test drive the car throughly, with lots of stops and starts.

......and then wait 3 months and hope that the problem does not show up.
Might want to check the odometer to see how soon someone returned it and ask why. Or they may have been loaners.
At any rate, transmission issues seem to be hit or miss and vary widely in degree, and many showed up after initial test drives.

I can feel that small , subtle knock on the gears from 2-3 , sometimes i barely notice it, sometimes it's very noticeable.
At any rate it's a matter of testing the prospects cars that you want

If you're buying used, just test the car. Easiest thing to do is use the paddles to control the shifts. Hold 2nd gear around 2200-2500 RPM, and then shift to 3rd while on flat ground. If it has the issue it should give a hard shift under those conditions.
The issue seems to be resolved for the 2016.
