You may have saved my day, I've had an SRS light on in my 98 CL for like 6 months lol, I tried the paperclip thing to get the code but it didn't seem to work, so I cleared it and it came back...maybe you could help me out?

The paper clip trick to read the code is somewhat tricky but I will advise you to try it again. Based on experience the CL's are very well known for having problems with buckles. I would almost bet you that your driver side buckle is pooched. You dont need to replace the entire mechanism, just the buckle part which can separate from the deployable part of the seatbelt. This would save you a lot of money. Read the code would be the first step. Hope that helps.

Check all the connections under the seats...to ensure that they are plugged in properly. The yellow ones in particular.

those of you who have pm'd me...one thing that you need to understand..is that if the car has ever been in an accident where any airbag or seat belt has deployed....the srs computer is no good. Your options are the following:
1. Buy a new computer from the dealer (very expensive, and needs to be calibrated by the dealer or someone who has an expensive Honda scanner)
2. Buy a used one from a wrecker (make sure its the exact same number, still might need to be calibrated using a honda scan tool)
3. Have your existing one re-programmed. (cheapest option)

2001 Acura cl.

My srs light was off until the mechanic disconnected the battery to replace the light ballast. He told me its the seat buckle but I had that fixed already so I suspect it may be a glitch. Anyway I bought a service connector and attempted to erase the DTC memory. The process worked exactly as it should blinking twice and going off etc. But when I turn the car back on the light never goes off.

Any Ideas? Thanks!
