ok, so how would a relationship work with a chick that has very different political ideas than yourself?

theres this girl (very cute, very smart, very nice. Stanford material), the other night her away message was about not buying from bp cause they wanna drill off shore in FLA and buying hybrid cars. so i imed her and we got talking about the problems of american consumerism (SUVs and other terrible things that really are too much to be put in mass production) and she's hard core green peace kinda thing. not like burning car dealerships but you get the idea. then we moved into talking about bush and she's your typical san franciscan liberal on that deal while im a supporter of GWB (not Jeb, thats a whole other can of worms). so yeah, basically, we didnt agree on too many things that we touched on, so i moved on, we ended up talking for the better part of an hour and a few, not all politics, only a half an hour or so of that, other stuff was your average daily teenage nonsense.

I couldn't stand her, I'd end up calling her an idiot ten times over every minute of everyday of her life until she saved the whales with her own two hands and rescued endangered bullfrogs from evil corporations and ate only wheat made from organic sources that have been sprinkled with fairy dust because she lives in LA LA land and she should be put on an island outside of the US (like Puerto Rico) and blown to bits with some MOABs....

Then she can have sex with Osama Bin Laden and relate to him, because after all, she's understanding of his frustration probably and she'd like to see him destroy America...

I'm all for smart/witty girls , but this isn't looking good. I mean, even if you're not talking politics, per se, her views are still gonna be in every part of her life. And if you wanna get to know her, you'd have to get to know her life, and I can just see this turning into a huge fight because y'alls views aren't compatible on some things.
Sorry, mang, but romantic history is a different ballgame than the way someone thinks and lives their life. I don't think you can "hide" the topic for very long.

One of my X's and I used to get into political debates ALL the time...which ultimately led to us breaking up...on VERY bad terms. But that was just one instance...I've had other bf's that had different political views and got along just nicely...having a lively debate or two never hurt anyone Just don't let it get too personal
