i don't see the big problem with a 19 year old that's never had a girlfriend.

it's just a matter of personality and priorities. some guys, at 19, just simply don't want a girlfriend. and i'm sure there are many of you that wish you didn't have a girlfriend at 19. if a guy at 19 feels like he isn't ready for a relationship, costs, etc and would rather devote his time to school, work, friends, playing ball, etc. then it's all good.

personally, i never had a serious girlfriend until i was 22.

now....for the sake of the op's story, i think your friend sounds like he does need a girl though.

I still don't think OP specified which kind of dude this is. Has he never had a gf because he's out banging a ton of chicks every weekend and doesn't feel a need to commit to just one? Or is he socially inept and cannot get a girl to talk to him to save his life, let alone be his gf?

I know several of both types and I think it's important to know what kind of dude this guy is.

From what I've gathered, he's an okay looking guy that has had chances with hot chicks before, but never did anything about it, even when he knows they like him.


And if he doesn't have anything better to do than hang out with S A CHO and his old lady, I doubt he is out banging random girls on the weekend.

Well I know a guy like this and my friends and I have decided he's very socially inept and when girls show interest he either won't know how to handle it or find some flaw with her and say he can do better. But it's probably all a way to cover up his insecurities.

Actually i believe alot of women would agree with you. Alot of my freinds that are girls say they want a guy who knows what hes doing, they dont want the purden of having to teach a guy from scratch

1. Definitely recommend a double date for a blind date/setup.

2. Make sure he cleans his bathroom really well...nothing turns a broad off like mysterious substances on the side of the bowl.

3. Get your girl to give him a bit of a primer on her...likes, some interests, etc so he can make good conversation

4. Make sure he rubs one out 9 hours before the date and 3 hours before the date. Will cost him a bit in volume, but for an inexperienced 19 year old, it will help his stamina for sure.

5. Make sure that he doesn't focus ENTIRELY on her, but make sure he knows to not just be hanging out with friends...it's important to maintain the feel of a date right off te star...otherwise he runs into ladder problems.

Maybe he's just a late bloomer? He's probably a shy guy who can't approach women or he may have not be looking for something serious in his life right now. People relate to things at different times in their life. I mean, most women mature faster than women! :p I'm sure he'll be ready for it when the time comes. S'all good. I mean I can totally relate to this guy. I'm 19 and I haven't been in a single relationship so far although I have had many opportunities to do so. As for the commitment, I would rather not think about it right now. Focus on school, get myself stable and then go in. There hasn't been a single girl that would suit my expectations or that I would see in myself with for the long run. Why settle for less when you can wait it out and get the best for yourself.

PS.. I'd be broke and wouldn't be able to spend money on the ride.

If you'r wondering why I haven't updated you it's because I have nothing to update. The were planning on going out two weeks ago, she got food poisoning the day before... Last weekend they were supposed to go out, he cancelled because of a Mid-term he never knew he had so he stayed home the entire weekend and crammed...

Hopefully they go out either this week or the next, but he told me that he's been talking to a few people and maybe wont need my help after all, but he'd still give it a shot...

Um yea I'm in the same dilemma, I have only liked a few girls over the last few years. Unfourtanely I can not tell if a girl likes me, so if I never got confirmation a girl likes me I won't do anything. Like for instance now I met this really cute girl and I hung out with her all day yesterday. But I'm afraid to call her because I don't want to be one of those annoying guys who calls the same girl a lot. Plus I can't tell if she likes me, but if she does ill go for it. I guess that could be your buddy's problem too.
