Water-S's date this last weekend
okay I kind of double dated with my bud. cause his g/f's room mate at college wanted to go out with me. She goes to a college over at Columbus. she's a Sophomore(i'm a Senior). She's a elementary education major.(which is cool i think). She autocrosses like a early 1990's CRX. but because she marches in marching band(and no she isn't nerdy looking actually she's very pretty i think). we had to go to the football game. well I guess because it rained the night before and they got real turf on the field she twisted her ankle(i don't think she sprained it)but i did kind of carry her up stairs(fire training came in handy here). but when i first met her i did brought her a dozen roses and a teddy bear. but she was impressed with my knowledge both about firefighting, and farming. she's told her roommate who's my friend also that he sounds intelligent. after i carried her back to the room. We got some pizza. ate the Pizza talked a little bit then i came home.
The good news:is not only does she look better than i expect. she i think likes me.(she was like flirting with me, she was like grabbing at my side after i carried her up stairs and got ice for her ankle). I did have a good time with her.
The bad news: It kind of sucks cause now realizing my ex is done with you. yeah i'm a little angery but depressed more than anything. I thought about her a lot just cause it's the first real date in almost 2 years without her.
I was talking with my friend i said I'm sorry if i'm out of it just i feel a little odd. just i haven't really been on a "first date" in awhile. she said "No Derek your doing great" dont' worry about it. then she could tell i was thinking about Sherri(my ex) she's like look Derek she messed it plan and simple it's not your fault. i said i know but it's just hard. she said i understand. but to be honest I know you didn't really wanna come tonight cause your tying to heal from her but it took a lot of courage to move on and not let her hold you down. she said just try to have fun.(which i did). (Amy and I joked and laughed).
I think I did alright cause she wants to hang out Firday and Saturday. or atleast 1 day.
I really like Amy. mom wants me to date around more before i settle down with 1 girl. but it's the first time in a long time i really felt like i connected with a girl. and no we didn't have sex. plus we talked about some important stuff. because Sherri had a B!TCHING fit about me going full-time firefighting.(cause i applied at Sidney Fire Dept)(which is full time) and she flipped out. because she said I'd never be home if we ever had kids.(but yet we they only work 9-10 days a month)(24 hour shifts) so your off about 20 days a month. but she said man my guy if it's his dream he can do it. which kind of made me feel good.

Don't become like me.....save yourself from the horrors of criticism. You, however, at least can get a date. If I had a hat I would tip it to you.

it was great once I took our JD 4440 to school once because my old Honda was busted.( it was either take the tractor or walk or take the twinkie)(i was a senior and there was no way i was riding the twinkie with under classman).(i lived about 3-4 miles from high school) so I jumped on the 4440 (which is like 130 PTO HP)and took it to school. it took me like 15-20 minutes to get to school. it took like 8-9 parking spaces to park it. then i got my picture in the year book in my bibs next to the 4440. then it was in May(so it's pretty warm) does Derek turn on the A/C in the cab HELL NO. i run down the road redneck style. take a bungee cord and tie off the to the hood(to get ventilation in the cab), then i open the back window
Although on our new tractor(JD 8400)(about 250 PTO HP) I close the door and use the AC cause i don't want to get a lot of dust and crap on the inside. but usually i use the 4440 that's Derek's tractor.
. Then it was great when i was leaving this girl that always made fun of the farm guys. I go right up on her back bumper of her T-bird. all had to see was front green weight rack of the 4440 in the rearview mirror.
dad won't let me get the sticker i want for my car.
says
CASE IH IS DEERE'S BITCH.
and yes for a vaction my family went to the Deere factory. we run all Green on our farm.
probably the tractor i wish we would have never got rid of was one a 68' JD 4020. That thing was FRICKEN AWESOME. well we rebuilt it like my senior year(of high school). Dad told me if I could find a 5020 kit reasonable priced we could get it. junk the old motor. and put in the new 5020 motor.(the 4020 out of the factory was rated at about 95 or 100 PTO HP. well after I got the 5020 motor it kicked it up to like 150 or 175 HP. HOLY hell you wanna talk about a stout 4020). it was only suppose to have a 4 bottom plow tractor.(it could get 6 if your on level ground and not going deep). but I put a 6 bottom on it after we majored the motor. and put on the longest blades i could find(like 17 or 20 inch blades)(you get down into subsoil when you go that deep). anyhow I found our steepest hill we owned. I plowed it LIKE NOTHING with that 4020 with 5020 motor in it. it was great.
then we sold it about 2 years ago when we got the 8400.
but we still got the other 4020 which has the orginal stock motor in it. with a loader and backhoe. the hydrolics on it blows. because they are always leaky but it's a "okay tractor" nothing like the punched out 4020 Deere. I would have taken the 4020 to school but we were in the process of pulling the motor in it during i needed a ride. so we had the motor hanging from the hay hoist in the barn.
so on the fire dept if we get called out on farm accidents i'm the one usually the specialist because i've grown up using and working on tractors.
